(This is a list of baby names I found on the top 1000 of the social security baby names' list. These names are names that I think are uncommon, unheard of or are ready for a comeback, and I think would be interesting to see on a baby today. All name meanings were found on behindthename.com.)

1. Casimer- number 914 in 1900, it is possibly a variant of Casimir meaning "to destroy" and "peace, world". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
2. Artis- number 907 in 1900, possibly related to Arthur possibly meaning "bear", "man", and "king". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
3. Cal- number 848 in 1900, it is a short form of Calvin meaning "bald". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
4. Gregorio- number 809 in 1900, it is a form of Gregory meaning "watchful, alert". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
5. Farris- number 804 in 1900, it is a variant of Ferris, which is a surname name meaning "descendant of Fearghas" and "ironsmith". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
6. Watson- number 734 in 1900, means "son of Walter" and Walter means "ruler of the army". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
7. Casper- number 684 in 1900, it is a form of Jasper meaning "treasurer" and it is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
8. Gaston- number 635 in 1900, means "stranger" and it is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.

10. Boyd- number 260 in 1900, it is from a surname that is possibly derived from the name of the island of Bute. It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.

My Favorite Names

Girls: 1. Briley- I have loved this name for several years. Over the years, my top ten girls' names have changed a lot but Briley has always been number one. I think I love it because it is not common, but it sounds familiar, which is the perfect combination to me. 2. Lavender- I love this name because it sounds feminine without sounding too girly, it is not common and my favorite color is purple. My only hesitation with the name is that it is maybe a little too out there for me. 3. Jane- This name is simple and beautiful and has a wonderful meaning. My mom's name is Jan, so Jane is my way of honoring her. 4. Wren- I always picture a really kind, smart, quietly beautiful girl with this name. I have no idea why I love it.
