Boys Names that end in S: Part 2

In this post, I am going to talk about baby boy names that end in s and my obsession with them. I will be ranking these names on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being a name I would love to use on my child and 1 being a name I would never use on my child. (All name meanings were found on behindthename.com). My favorite S ending boys names: 1. Osiris - It is not in the top 1000 for 2016 in the U.S. and it is a Greek name with an unknown meaning. I love this name and all its possible nicknames. Ranking: 10 2. Silas - It is ranked #119 in the top 1000 for 2016 in the U.S. I talked about this name in Part 1 and I can see why people are loving it. Rank: 9 3. Cyrus - (Is there a pattern here? O si ris, Si las, Cy rus) It is ranked #427 in the top 1000 for 2016 in the U.S. It is a Greek name possibly meaning "Far sighted" or "Young". In this post, I am going to talk about baby boy names that end in s and my obsession with them. I will be ranking these names on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being a name I would love to use on my child and 1 being a name I would never use on my child. New Names I am Loving Lately

These are names I have just recently fallen in love with and I thought I would share them with you! Girls: 1. Gwyna - I love the name Gwen/Gwyn but not on its own and I don't like the names that it is used as a nickname for. I was thinking about Gwen/Gwyn and just thought why not Gwyna.  2. Maewyn - I have liked this name for a while, but I have just recently started loving it. I love a good Mae name, because Mae names are beautiful and Mae is a family name for me. 3. Clara - I have always liked this classic name, but I find it much more charming and elegant than I did before. 4. Ida - It sounds so spunky, short and sweet. My grandmother's middle name is Idabell and this is would be a wonderful tribute to her. 5. Farren - I love girls' names that have the -Ren- sound in them and this name sounds very light and whimsical to me. Boys: 6. Rowling did an amazing job naming her characters and many of the names are awesome and unique names that would definitely be usable as baby names. Girls: 1. Hermione - I couldn't do a top ten harry potter name's without mentioning this name. This name is from Greek mythology and is the name of the wife of Leontes in Shakespeare's "The Winter Tale". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2015. 2. Lavender - This is one of my all time favorite girls' names. It is the name of the plant and the color. It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2015. 3. Luna - She is one of my favorite characters from this series and this is a beautiful name. It means "the moon" in Latin and she was the Roman goddess of the moon. It is currently ranked 110 for 2015. 4. Rowena - The meaning is uncertain, but it possibly means "fame" and "joy, bliss"....

Gilead Gilead is a biblical place name meaning "Monument of testimony". Gilead has never been in the top 1000 in the United States. Gilead sounds handsome and has "Gil" as a possible nickname. 1. What is your own name and do you like it? My name is Susanna Marie. I love my first name Susanna, it sounds beautiful, has tons of nickname options, and has a wonderful meaning, "Lily". I don't really like my middle name, Marie, it is extremely common, and it doesn't sound very nice. The meaning of Marie is debatable, but some of the possible meanings are not nice. 2. Valor Valor is a word name, which means "valor" or "bravery, courage". It has never been in the top 1000 in the United States. I personally think this would make a really great middle name or if you are a brave namer, then it could make an awesome first name as well. My Favorite Names

Girls: 1. Briley- I have loved this name for several years. Over the years, my top ten girls' names have changed a lot but Briley has always been number one. I think I love it because it is not common, but it sounds familiar, which is the perfect combination to me. 2. Lavender- I love this name because it sounds feminine without sounding too girly, it is not common and my favorite color is purple. My only hesitation with the name is that it is maybe a little too out there for me. 3. Jane- This name is simple and beautiful and has a wonderful meaning. My mom's name is Jan, so Jane is my way of honoring her. 4. Wren- I always picture a really kind, smart, quietly beautiful girl with this name. I have no idea why I love it. My sister and I are going to tell you our favorite names from the 1890's and 1900's posts. Susanna Marie Boys: 1. Walton- I really love the name Walt, but I don't like Walter and Walt by itself feels incomplete. Walton is a really handsome name with the adorable nickname Walt. 2. My family and I are going to tell our favorite names from the 1880's post. Susanna Marie Boys: 1. Luther- I really love L names and I love the associations with Martin Luther, figure in the Protestant Reformation, and Martin Luther King Jr., the leader of the Civil Rights Movement. Luther also has a nice meaning and it just sounds handsome to me. 2. Abner- It has an amazing meaning, "my father is light", you cannot get a much better meaning than that. It also sounds strong to me and I think you could use the nickname "Abe" for it. 3. Myron- I am not entirely sure why I love this name. It is easy to pronounce and spell and it sounds handsome.
