(This is a list of baby names I found on the top 1000 of the social security baby names' list. These names are names that I think are uncommon, unheard of or are ready for a comeback, and I think would be interesting to see on a baby today. All name meanings were found on behindthename.com.)

1. Arlena- number 889 in 1900, it is a variant of Arline, which has an unknown meaning. It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
2. Portia- number 721 in 1900, it is a feminine form of the name Porcius meaning "pig". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
3. Francisca- number 561 in 1900, it is a feminine form of Francis meaning "Frenchman". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
4. Ira- number 481 in 1900, means "watchful" and it is also a short form of Irina, which is a form of Irene, derived from a word meaning "peace". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
5. Octavia- number 462 in 1900, it is a feminine form of Octavius meaning "eighth". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
6. Aurelia- number 415 in 1900, it is a feminine form of Aurelius meaning "golden, gilded". It is currently ranked 832 in 2014.
7. Leora- number 394 in 1900, it is a variant of Liora, which is a feminine form of Lior meaning "light for me". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
8. Cordelia- number 376 in 1900, it has an unknown meaning and it is currently ranked 993 in 2014.
9. Tessie- number 344 in 1900, it is a diminutive of Theresa possibly meaning "summer", "to harvest" or derived from the name of the Greek island Therasia. It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
10. Louella- number 321 in 1900, it is a combination of the name Lou and the name suffix Ella. Lou is a short form of Louise and Louis, which is the Latinized form of Ludwig meaning "famous" and "war, battle". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
