1. Hermina- number 951 in 1920, it is a feminine form of Herman meaning "army man". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
2. Lavera- number 945 in 1920, possibly a combination of the prefix La and the name Vera meaning "faith" in Russian and can be associated with the Latin word verus "true". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
3. Lilia- number 934 in 1920, it is a variant of Liliya, which is a cognate of Lily. It is currently ranked 925 in 2014.
4. Clarabelle- number 895 in 1920, it is a variant of Claribel, which is a combination of Clara meaning "clear, bright, famous" and the suffix bel. Belle means "beautiful" in French. It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
5. Retha- number 510 in 1920, it is a short form of Margaretha, which is a form of Margaret meaning "pearl". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.

Name of the Week

Ursa Ursa is the name of two constellations: Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. It means "Bear" in Latin. Ursa has never been in the top 1000 in the United States.
