 (This is a list of baby names I found on the top 1000 of the social security baby names' list. These names are names that I think are uncommon, unheard of or are ready for a comeback, and I think would be interesting to see on a baby today. All name meanings were found on behindthename.com.)

1. Magnolia- number 982 in 1890, obviously the name of the tree, it is currently ranked 831 in 2014.
2. Honora- number 970 in 1890, it is a variant of Honoria, which is a feminine form of Honorius meaning "honour". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
3. Ethelyn- number 961 in 1890, it is a diminutive of Ethel meaning "noble". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
4. Arizona- number 944 in 1890, it is the name of a state in the U.S.A. and the meaning is debatable between these meanings: "the good oak", "having a little spring" and "arid zones". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
5. Theodosia- number 933 in 1890, it is a feminine form of Theodosius meaning "giving to God". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
6. Calla- number 879 in 1890, it is a type of Lily and may also mean "beauty". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
7. Verena- number 869 in 1890, possibly means "true" or it could be a form of Berenice meaning "bringing victory". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
8. Audra- number 831 in 1890, it is a variant of Audrey meaning "noble" and "strength". Audra means "storm" in Lithuanian. It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.
9. Ramona- number 817 in 1890, it is a feminine form of Raymond meaning "advice" and "protector". It is currently not in the top 1000 for 2014.

My Favorite Names

Girls: 1. Briley- I have loved this name for several years. Over the years, my top ten girls' names have changed a lot but Briley has always been number one. I think I love it because it is not common, but it sounds familiar, which is the perfect combination to me. 2. Lavender- I love this name because it sounds feminine without sounding too girly, it is not common and my favorite color is purple. My only hesitation with the name is that it is maybe a little too out there for me. 3. Jane- This name is simple and beautiful and has a wonderful meaning. My mom's name is Jan, so Jane is my way of honoring her. 4. Wren- I always picture a really kind, smart, quietly beautiful girl with this name. I have no idea why I love it.
